EVENT - SAJNA सजना Launch
27 - 29 Johnston Street, Collingwood
Launching 10 November, 6:00-9:00pm,
followed by a week of trade.
Makers Anu Kumar, Zaiba Khan and Priyanka Kaul bring you SAJNA, a week-long pop-up store showcasing three individual bodies of work that tie seamlessly together in one space. In Hindi, Sajna means to adorn or decorate. In South Asian culture this encompasses a deep tradition, there is power in our rituals of dress.
"We dream sweet in breathable, hand-dyed pyjamas by Anuk Pajama, drape our forms in BADAAM’s rich hand-woven garments, and arm ourselves with Zaiba Khan’s hypnotic handmade jewellery. We offer visitors an opportunity to consider an ethical approach to their consumption of fashion. We invite you into our creative sisterhood, into a long lineage of bespoke textiles and wearable objects. Three daughters of a shared Motherland, and keepers of our craft."
Join Anu, Zaiba and Priyanka on the 10th of November at 6pm, 27 - 29 Johnston Street, Collingwood.
