SATSUKI and Taka Perry combine their talents to create Zoning Out — the playful, experimental pop of your dreams.
Zoning Out is the latest single from Sydney-born, Osaka-based artist SATSUKI. Teaming up with another Australian-Japanese artist Taka Perry, the duo deliver a playful, catchy track featuring auto-tuned vocals, glitchy production, and a rhythm you can’t help but want to groove to.
“Because of the pandemic, I wasn’t able to fly back to Sydney… I heard Taka on the radio and knew I had to work with him. We had a brief discussion over FaceTime about what kind of track I wanted to make. I was listening to a lot of Dua Lipa, Perfume and Tove Lo and we wanted to create a fun, dance-y pop song.”
With a sound inspired by J-Pop, math rock and hyper pop elements that strays from their usual style, Zoning Out makes it clear that both SATSUKI and Taka Perry are versatile artists unafraid to experiment outside of their comfort zones.
